Hellraiser: Revival Is Shaping Up To Be The Scariest Horror Game of 2026

Hellraiser Revival

Hellraiser: Revival might just be next year’s best horror game. Saber Interactive just uploaded a developer diary detailing what to expect from this upcoming entry, and we can already see the love and care put into it.

For the first time in a long time, we finally have a survival horror-focused Hellraiser game. Back then, we only had crossovers and mere mentions of our favorite Cenobites. Reducing Pinhead and the Chatterer as guest appearances felt like a disservice to Clive Barker’s acclaimed horror series.

Hellraiser: Revival doesn’t hold back on what makes the series scary. Saber Interactive stated in their latest video that they are not holding back on pushing the boundaries with violence and explicit sexuality. Both of these themes are the core foundations of the franchise, and it looks like Revival is elevating that experience for the first-person survival horror formula. There will be gratuitous displays of violence and sexual content in the game, making streaming and producing content for this game tricky.

If you’re the type who feels queasy when Ethan Winters lost his hand in Resident Evil, or experienced major discomfort during Silent Hill f’s macabre depiction of domestic violence, Revival goes above and beyond that kind of concept, putting the protagonist’s worst fears made flesh thanks to the terrifying delights of the Cenobites.

But the good news here is that your character is not completely defenseless in this game. The Genesis Configuration puzzle box will be your helping tool from the sex-crazed horrors that surround this version of hell. Armed with a pistol and a wide variety of guns, you are front and center of what an average victim of the Cenobites would be. The best part here is that you get to fight back, unlike its movie counterparts, where you can only wish a merciful end for its characters.

Hellraiser: Revival is set for a 2026 release, so we can already expect that next year’s lineup of horror games is going ot be big. Titles like Resident Evil Requiem also claim their stake in the horror market as Leon makes his highly anticipated return. Tarsier Studios’ REANIMAL puts co-op and horror as its themes, and Frictional Games’ ONTOS will bring back that same kind of existential dread from SOMA.

As someone who grew up with Hellraiser, this is already one of my most anticipated horror entries next year.
